DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS
This team member is responsible for creating and executing the organization’s development plan and will work with the President, Chief Program Officer/Director of Public Affairs and Director of Finance and Administration to expand organization’s financial support, doubling its revenues over five years to meet ambitious programmatic goals.

Create and implement ambitious and achievable annual fundraising strategic plan and accompanying development work plans that details how the organization solicits donors and identifies funding sources such as grants, in-kind donations, charitable events and marketing opportunities;
In tandem with fellow FPI senior staff, cultivate strategic partnerships and initiatives to further FPI’s mission and programmatic goals;
Prepare annual budgets detailing the cash required to fund programs in a realistic, consistent and measurable manner;
Shares development plans and budget with senior leadership and the board of directors, who provide oversight and leadership;
Grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation and solicitation of major donors;
Research, identify, and coordinate the submission of potential grant opportunities;
Ensures all grant reporting requirements are tracked and submitted on time;
Initiates and maintains relations with foundations, corporations and individuals;
Personally solicits high level donors, demonstrating strong relationship building and solicitation skills and prepares organizational leadership and other staff for successful engagements;
Develop and steward all proposals and reports for foundation and corporate giving;
Serve as an integral member of the team and collaborate with team members and outside consultants;
Oversee the design and implementation of all donor communications and marketing materials, including social media and advertising campaigns, as part of a fundraising strategy that expands the target audience through community relations, speaking engagements, newsletters, and charitable events;
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS
A minimum of 5 years fundraising experience of $2-5 million annually in an organization with a strong focus on both expanding and securing large foundation, individual and corporate gifts;
Knowledge of Congress and the political environment a strong plus;
Experience in successful small-to-large event planning and management required;
Proven track record of seeking and securing grants, individual donor and corporate fundraising success;
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines in a multi-tasking environment;
Persuasive writing, strong verbal communication and the ability to interact at the executive level are other key qualifications;
An independent, resourceful self-starter able to interact with grace, calmness and cheer equally with the public and with members of Congress, appointed government officials, political leaders and corporate executives;
Ability to work in fast-paced team environment;
A bachelor’s degree or higher required, in a related field preferred;
Familiarity with all Microsoft programs and Raiser’s Edge desired, or ability to quickly learn and to seek to update and sharpen skill sets;
Assist with programs, events, and activities as directed;
Establishes and maintains positive relationships with supervisors, colleagues, and stakeholders;
Accepts and acts on performance based criticism and direction;
Adheres to the office attendance policy;
Works well under pressure and handles stress with grace;
Works a flexible schedule that may include long hours, nights, and weekends; and;
Performs other duties as assigned.
